Hi, I’m Ras.
— filmmaker, editor, storyteller.
Growing up in Kenya, I was surrounded by incredible landscapes, cultures, and stories that shaped the way I see the world. My love for storytelling eventually led me to film, where I discovered that the edit suite was my happy place — a space where images, sounds, and emotions come together to create something meaningful.
For over 10 years, I've worked across commercial, documentary, educational, and branded content, helping turn ideas into stories through editing, colour, motion graphics, and post-production. I love the process of taking a collection of footage (sometimes a very large collection of footage!) and finding the story hiding within it.
Through Kogo Studios, I collaborate with creatives, brands, and organisations to create films that connect with audiences. Whether it's capturing a meaningful moment, bringing a vision to life, or solving the occasional "why won't this render?" crisis, I love the challenge of creating something that people can feel.
Outside of filmmaking, I'm constantly inspired by design, architecture, nature, and the relationship between light and space. I'm currently studying Interior Design, which has only strengthened my obsession with composition, texture, and all the little details that make a place — or a story — feel special.
So if you're looking for someone who cares about storytelling, loves beautiful visuals, and gets unreasonably excited about good lighting... we might just get along.
